We’ve been married for two years today.

Time FLIES!

It’s been a wild ride already – and we’re still just at the start! Marriage is somehow so different than engagement or before – so even though we have been together for 8 years, this new beginning has been wonderful. I couldn’t imagine a better life partner – and let’s get real for a second here. I’m so lucky to have found someone like Sohrab at all, let alone so early in my life. The Carl to my Ellie. The Sam to my Quorra. Gush, gush, gush.

Today is a day of celebration of what has been and what is to come, and we’re celebrating it by hopping on a plane. *cue Hellogoodbye’s “Two Weeks In Hawaii”*

We’ve been on the move lately; we’re on our way to Hawaii for a week today, we just got back from Germany (and, unexpectedly, the Netherlands) a little bit ago – we’re regular jet setters now!

It’s been quite the adventure.

In our first trip to Europe together, we learned A LOT about ourselves, each other, the world… *dreamy eyes*

Okay, so “the world” might be a bit of a stretch, but it was my first time outside of the United States in more than a decade and my very first time in Europe. Yes, seriously! The longest flight I’d ever taken was to Hawaii or New York City from Los Angeles – so thinking about 10 hours on our first leg to Amsterdam was a bit nerve-wracking. But it turned out to be JUST FINE (thanks, Sherlock!). And Europe – well. It really was an incredible experience full of lessons in patience, humility, and open-mindedness. So, while we certainly aren’t pros by any means yet (keyword: yet!), I’m so excited to share the little nuggets of wisdom that we picked up along the way.
